THE TUCSON PRESIDIO NEEDS OUR HELP!
The Pima County Genealogy Society has been asked to participate in a project led by the Tucson Presidio Trust to compile family histories of the soldiers and settlers of the Tucson Presidio during the Spanish colonial period (1775-1821) and the Mexican territorial period (1821-1856) as the first priority. The Arizona territorial period (1856-1912) will be included at a later stage of the project.
If you are interested in volunteering to work on this project, please contact Betty Bengtson at firstname.lastname@example.org 219-3507. Volunteers will be compiling genealogy information for the Presidio families, entering data and performing other tasks to be defined. Research has been done for some families and some verification or sourcing of the information may be necessary. The information will be made available to the public at the Presidio.
