October is Family History Month - "Introduction to Genealogy" Presentations at local libraries

Pima County Genealogy Society will be presenting an "Introduction to Genealogy" talk at various library locations throughout the city of Tucson during the month of October.  Please join us at one of the following locations:

Beginning Classes: Vital Record Substitutes

Join Us Saturday, October 1 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm at the Columbus Library 4350 E 22nd Street.  This beginners session will highlight vital record substitutes for the first 30-45 minutes and then have one on one mentoring for the remainder of the session.  Please RSVP by calling Barbara Salyer at 296-1498.  This class will be repeated next riday, October 7 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Himmel Park Library.  Please call Barbara Salyer if you plan on coming to the Friday session and have not previously registered.

Family History in the 21st Century - Free Learning Opportunities

The classes for the Family History in the 21st Century have been announced.  They include Records of the poor; Tips for Ancestry.com;, Comparing Ancesral Quest, Family Insight, Legacy Family Tree and RootsMagic; Maps; Social Networking; Technology Webinars; Using Newspapers; and Writing Personal and Family Histories.  A full list of available classes and an additional information is available by downloading Family History in the 21st Century.  Remember this opportunity is being offered October 29, 2011 from 8am to 3:30pm and it is FREE!
