(between Speedway and Elm)

Parking

1. Garage –

Enter the Medical Central from Campbell Avenue -- in front of the Main Hospital

Turn left at the first side street

Turn right into the Parking Garage Entrance – parking is free on Saturdays

Turn right into the Patient/Visitor Underground Parking Garage

Take the elevator at the northwest end of the garage to the 4^th floor

Enter the Hospital through the main doors

Go to the hallway just past the elevators

Turn left and go almost to the double doors exiting the building

Turn right and before you would enter the Library, turn left at the double doors

Room 2117 is at the far south end of that hallway

2.  South Parking Lot

Park in the Lot just south of the College of Nursing and Pharmacy

Go north through the middle of the two college buildings until you get to the double glass doors to enter the College of Medicine

Turn left (west) after you enter the building until just before the Library

Turn left at the double doors

Room 2117 is at the far south end of that hallway

When the Past Meets the Present to Change the Future: Using Genograms by Colleen McHugh

A genogram is a graphical depiction of a family tree that is much like a descendancy chart. However, the genogram utilizes lines, shapes, colors and descriptives to indicate various relationship, medical, and social dynamics that exist within and between family members. Genealogists interested in researching family history will learn new information about who their ancestors were as people. They will also learn how to use the information from the genogram to predict and/or change negative influences in their own lives and families.

The class is taught in 2 parts: A slide show presentation describing the genogram followed by an in-class activity to teach members how to create a genogram.

Family History Expo - Mesa Arizona Jan 20-21, 2012

It's back for the fourth year in a row - the Family History Expo in Mesa, Arizona.  Events dates are January 20th thru the 21st.  The Expo will take place at the Mesa Convention Center, 236 N. Center Street, Mesa, Arizona.

Early Bird - $49 (Expires Dec 12, 2011 ) Pre-registration Fee - $69 Friday Only - $59 Saturday Only - $59 At the Door - $99  Event information is available at Mesa Family History Expo .  One of our members Colleen McHugh will be a featured speaker at the event.  Other notable speakers include Lisa Louise Cooke, Arlene Eakle, Phd, Leland Meitzler, and Geoff Rasmussen.

October 15th meeting at the University Medical Center, Room 2117

We have two wonderful presentations for you Saturday, October 15th.  Our first program is Federal, State Census & More My Experiences with Census by Al Seames followed by Learn about You by Learning about THEM:  The Relationship Between Cultural and Genealogical Studies presented by Colleen McHugh, LMSW.  This month's meeting is at University Medical Center, Room 2117,  1:00 p.m. to 3:30 pm. Thank you William (Bill) Peckat  for providing pictures of our meeting location, Room 2117,  at University Medical Center. As you can see the room has stadium seating, large viewing screens, and a audio system.

We will have some folks and signage directing you to our meeting location.  As promised,  Amy Urman's cell number 331-8756, if you get lost.  The number is actually a business number for Nosy Wilma Investigations so if you hear a recording just leave a message and your call will returned ASAP.
